About Me

Hi.

I am Alagappan. I have a million things running in my head. I am hyperactive. And at the same time I’m also ultra lazy. Its an either here or there oxymoron kind of situation. :P I am a restless guy. I always end up doing something or the other. I’m the will-do-it-no-matter-what type of guy. I generally take up responsibility faster than you can hand it over.

I try to observe everything that goes on around me. I’m a silent and a patient guy using a very few words. I have a voracious appetite for learning new stuff. I like to read a lot. Have been reading a lot on the internet for the past few years. (Follow me on Google Reader). My reading list of books is ever increasing and I hope to do a marathon reading session sometime and finish it all. (My Reading List on Shelfari).

People say I eat much more than I am supposed to. But still I stay pretty much thin. Yes. I’m a fan of great food just like everybody. Once I visit a hotel/restaurant which I like, then I’d be their loyal customer for as long as possible. I still eat at D3 and Hot Kitchen in Trichy whenever I get a chance. I’m a religious fan of A R Rahman. Next favorite is Yuvanshaankar Raja, but I’d have to agree that he is still far far away from ARR. I spend a lot of time listening to Tamil songs and I like them especially for their scintillating lyrics.

I have seen most of the TV Series available in the LAN. The list includes entire seasons of 24, Prison Break, LOST, Smallville, Friends, How I Met Your Mom, The Big Bang Theory, Mentalist, Heroes. I have a huge list of movies which I’m yet to watch. Hopefully I’ll soon be catching up on that too.

Since my dad got transferred often, I’ve lived in quite a few different places of India. I’ve been lucky to have interacted with people from different cultures. It has really helped me a lot. I graduated from the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli with a degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering in May 2010. The fours years at NITT has played a significant role in shaping me in what I am now. NITT was also a mini-India in itself with students from each part of the country. It was here that I had the chance to mingle with various types of people. People from different cultures. People with different pasts, upbringings. People with different views of life and what they wanted to be in life. I had the chance to be able to understand and analyse all these different perspectives and thoughts.

I work as an Analyst with Global Analytics India Pvt Ltd at Chennai. Am currently learning python and django as a part of my work. More about what I do can be found at my LinkedIn profile.

About my Blogging Life.

I started blogging in early 2007 after being impressed by a few blogs maintained by college seniors. Being a blogger has indeed changed the perspective with which I see the internet. The internet till then was just a source of information for me but Blogging showed me that I too can be a part of it.

I started off blogging at with Alagappan’s Blog Corner at Blogspot. Later I had plans of moving to some other blogging platform. That is when my brother gifted me with this domain.

I moved on to WordPress for back-end work and I am happy with its various features. I have discontinued blogging at my previous blog, but you can find most of the posts of my previous blog at this domain.
This blog is a safe haven for my personal thoughts. And it is open for the world to read. I would love to express myself here for the world to read.

At this Blog, I’ll be writing about my experiences with anything that meets my eye and also about stuff which I feel would be useful for the readers. I would have posted some stuff about my campus NIT Trichy and my experience there. I would also be posting about my blogging experience so that it helps others. Why commit mistakes when you can learn from mine.

About You.

I firmly believe that there is always a choice in life and I am what I am because of the choices that I have made. I have chosen to interact with YOU through this blog. I have been expressing myself in this blog for a long time and it is open for you to read. I would like to exchange ideas with you. You can feel free to challenge me, disagree with me, or tell me I’m nuts. I would love to know more about you. Drop in a comment on any of my posts and I’ll respond whenever I get the time. (btw you can read through the disclaimer portion of this blog).

You can connect with me online at Facebook. You may be interested in following me on Twitter. You can also mail me at contact[dot]alagappan[at]gmail[dot]com.

I thank you for stopping by this page, and I hope you visit my blog from time to time.
